About me

When I came to Romania for the first time in 2006, this country immediately captivated me. I experienced one of the most hospitable countries I have ever traveled to. During my stay I roamed through gently hilly areas and rugged rocks, drove through seemingly never-ending forests and along flower and herb meadows with a variety of plants that I hadn’t seen for a long time.

Just a year later I came back to deepen these impressions. To date, I have traveled the country many times and experienced and experienced the different regions.

At some point I felt like I had arrived. Romania has become a second home for me – who is actually bitten by the wanderlust virus. Little by little the thought crept into my head to spend the semi-sedentary phase of my restlessness here. I started looking – although not really consistently – for properties, many of which are available for sale. I had a mud house in mind.

Then it found me: an old Transylvanian-Saxon house right in the heart of Romania. I had never looked for that before, but it was a good fit straight away. It took another year and a half for me to become the new, legal owner at the notary.

This began the balancing act of equipping the house with a modern bathroom and heating without losing the charm and character of bygone eras. It takes time, love and a lot of patience to properly renovate the house using old methods and materials. With every step we take, we grow a little closer together.
